![]() SANDOVAL STOPS CHANDLER IN AC FOR BANTAM TITLE All good things must come to an end. On this day in 1984, Joltin' Jeff Chandler lost his WBA Bantamweight Title to Richie Sandoval by TKO in the 15th round. Jeff made nine successful title defenses before falling short in this bout. A champ since 1980, Chandler ended his career with a record of 33-2-2 with 18 KOs. He never fought again after this loss, due to cataract problems. In 2000, Chandler became a Hall of Famer, and is one of Philly's all-time best boxers. |
