CUNNINGHAM KEEPS
CRUISERWEIGHT TITLE

Philly's lone world champion, cruiserweight king Steve Cunningham retained his title with a 12-round unanimous decision over IBF mandatory challenger Enad Licina. The official scores ranged from landside to squeaker at 118-110, 117-111 and 115-113. The win was the first defense of Cunningham's second championship reign and raised his pro record to 24-2 with 12 KOs. Licina dropped to 19-3 with 12 KOs but apparently made a good showing - especially in the early rounds. The bout was not televised in the US and I haven't seen it online yet. But as usual Cunningham stayed focused amid delays and forced inactivity to proudly defend his belt. Congrats to USS Cunningham.
