HART WINS Philadelphia amateur star Jesse Hart may only have to put up with the label of "Cyclone Hart's Son" for one more year. On Friday (08/05), the 20 year old boxer beat Milwaukee's Luis Arias to win the US Olympic Trials in Mobile, AL. Arias had beaten Hart, 165 lbs, in three previous meetings, but Hart pulled the upset win with a clear-cut 21-6 decision. It was the 4th win of the tournament & the one that will put him in line to represent the US at next summer's Olympics in London. Hart must still perform well enough at the world championships in September to secure his trip to London, but this is a huge milestone. Congrats to Jesse and Cyclone, who had this dream for his son for as long as I can remember. |
