BOXING JUDGE
ROBERT GRASSO PASSES

South Philly boxing personality Bobby Grasso died Saturday, August 6, after a short bout with cancer. He was 65. Grasso fought professionally as a welterweight between 1969 and 1973, posting a 3-3 (1 KO) record. Grasso made a bigger mark in the sport as an boxing judge for more than twenty years. He was a fixture at ringside especially in Philadelphia & Atlantic City.  Grasso was inducted into the PA Boxing  Hall of Fame in 1998, and was an active member of the VBA. A viewing will be held Wednesday evening, 7-9 PM, at Baldi's Funeral Home in South Philly (Broad & Reed). His funeral service will be Thursday morning at St. Monica's Catholic Church at 17th & Ritner Streets.
