HASAN YOUNG READY FOR FIGHT

Junior welterweight Hasan Young held an open media workout on Monday, in preparation for his 6-round bout with Justin Johnson at Resorts International Casino Hotel in Atlantic City. Young normally trains at the Lonnie Young Recreation Center. However due to the Martin Luther King holiday, the event was moved to Bozy's Dungeon in Germantown.

Young, 4-1-1, 2 KOs, had a very good 2013, scoring a unanimous 6-round decision over New Yorker Ariel Duran at the Sands in Bethlehem, and a 5th round TKO of Julio DeJesus at Harrah's Chester.

Young hopes to be more active in 2014, and said that he'd like this weekend's fight with Pittsburgh's Justin "Baby Boy" Johnson, 6-5-4, to be the first of six bouts this year.

The fight is one of the supporting bouts on the nationally televised card featuring a middleweight 10-rounder between Curtis Stevens and Patrick Majewski, plus Thabiso Mchunu vs. Olanrewaju Durodola in a 10-round cruiserweight match. Both 10 round bouts will be televised by NBC Sports Network.

The following photos were taken at the open workout.
