RIP
MATTHEW SAAD MUHAMMAD

The greatest blood & guts warrior in Philly boxing history, Matthew Saad Muhammad, died today (May 25, 2014). Matthew was hospitalized last week, and was reportedly battling ALS. Saad was light heavyweight champion 1979-1981, and was the Spectrum's patron saint of glorious battle. He was without question the most exciting fighter I've ever seen in the ring.

The funeral service for Mathew Saad Muhammad will be held on Thursday, June 5th, 2014 at the Enon (West) Tabernacle Baptist Church in Philadelphia (230 W. Coulter Street, Phila., PA 19144). There will be a viewing between 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM, followed by a memorial service at 11:00 AM.
