Jeter Promotions, of Maryland, came to South Philly Saturday night
to stage a marathon, 14-bout card at the 2300 Arena. The show was
split into an afternoon session, beginning at 3:00 PM, and evening
set of bouts, beginning at 7:30 PM. Although the attendance was
limited due to COVID-19 restrictions, both halves of the show sold
the maximum number of tickets allowed, about 300.
In the evening's main event,
Woodhaven, NY welterweight Daniel Gonzalez won a six-round unanimous
decision over Lancaster's Evincii Dixon. Gonzalez won by scores of
59-55 and 60-54 twice. Gonzalez improved to 20-2-1, 7 KOs, while
Dixon slid to 10-26-2, 5 KOs.

CHAMBERS TKOS GRAY
Lightweight Brandon Chambers scored a third round TKO over Jonathan
Gray in a scheduled four round bout between two Maryland fighters.
According to photographer/correspondent Daniel Cork: "Jonathan Gray
definitely came to fight, but Brandon Chambers successfully cornered
him with a barrage in the first, some more key strikes in the 2nd,
and launched the final shot before referee Benjy Esteves halted the
bout at 1:20 of round three." Chambers went home 4-0-1, 2 KOs. Gray,
0-3, lost his third straight.

MADISON STOPS TUBBS
Baltimore heavyweight Colby Madison won by second round TKO over
Cincinnati's Antwaun Tubbs, in a scheduled six rounder. Madison
pressured Tubbs from the start, and put Tubbs on the canvas in round
two. Referee Shawn Clark stopped the bout at the 1:57 mark. Madison,
9-2-2, 6 KOs, snapped a two bout losing streak with the win. Tubbs,
5-15, 2 KOs, lost his third in a row.

CLARK BEATS HARKER
Joshua Clark, a Minnesota-based junior welterweight from Ecuador,
made a successful pro debut with a four round unanimous decision
over debuting Evan Harker, a Baltimore-based Canadian. Cork said,
"not many bombs were thrown by either pro debutant. Clark bore down to
take the win, 39-36 on all three cards (having lost a point in round
two for hitting behind the head), in a good but deliberate bout."

HUTCHERSON DEBUTS WITH DECISION
In fight between debuting bantamweights, Jaqeem Hutcherson,
Maryland, won a unanimous decision over Philly's Jeffery Williams.
"Hutcherson landed the bigger blows, in a fine career-opening bout for
both," Cork said. "Hutcherson had the edge 39-37 on all three
scorecards."

CUADRADO WINS DEBUT BY KO
Ridgewood, NY lightweight debuted with a first round KO of Houston's
Alexis Chavarria in their scheduled four rounder. Cuadrado pressured
Chavarria from the opening bell and scored two knockdowns in

seconds. Chavarria, 1-2, lost his second in a row.

BROOKER SCORES KNOCKOUT
Philly super middleweight Christopher Brooker fought for the first
time since 2019 and scored a second round knockout over Damion Hill
of Minnesota. "In the (evening) opener, a cut opened up on Brooker
late in the first round against a very sturdy Damion Hill," Cork
said. "But Brooker eased concerns over the cut by turning up the
pressure, downing Hill in the second, and notching the stoppage win
at 1:41 of that round." Brooker improved his record to 15-7, 6
KOs, while Hill fell to 4-14. The referee was Shawn Clark.
AFTERNOON SESSION

WILLIAMS HALTS FOWLKES

his second straight loss.

JOSEPH WINS DECISION
Bronx light heavyweight Jahvel Joseph remained undefeated (4-0, 1
KO), with a four round unanimous decision over Carl Murphy, 2-3, 2
KOs, of Harrisburg. "Murphy was active throughout," Cork said. "But
Joseph usually finished his exchanges with more force." Joseph won
by 40-36 shutout on all three official scorecards (David Braslow,
John Porturaj and Marc Werlinsky).

MOORE WINS BY DECISION
Orange, NJ welterweight Steve Moore put Phillip Davis, Worcester,
MA, on the canvas in rounds one and three, en route to winning a four

Willie Anderson, Paulsboro, NJ, in their scheduled four round bout.
Leonardo, 1-0-1, 1 KO, knocked down Anderson, 0-5, with a hard right in
the first round and referee Eric Dali stopped the fight after just
14 seconds.

VITONE AND GAVER DRAW
In the opening bout of the long day of fights, Nick Vitone and Matt
Gaver fought to a four round majority draw. Vitone, Pine Brook, NJ,
and Gaver both had their moments in the welterweight bout, and the
three judges couldn't decide on a winner. David Braslow saw Vitone
as the winner, 39-37, but was overruled by John Porturaj and Adam
Friscia who called the fight even at 38-38.
After a few attempts during these pandemic days, by other promoters,
to stage a split show at the 2300 Arena like this one, Jeter
Promotions finally pulled it off, with all fourteen of their matches
holding up until fight time.
