Popular South Philly heavyweight Sonny Conto devoured the latest
meal dished up for him, Friday night at the Parx Casino in Bensalem,
PA. Justin Rolfe, of Fairfield, ME, was the victim. The out-of-shape
boxer landed a few good shots, but offered little resistance and
fell in round three. It was the tenth victory for Conto, and his eighth by knockout.

The "Bronco" did what he was supposed to do in the fight, but it is
time for a step up in the level of his competition. Still, his big
fan base left the casino deliriously happy about their man's future
prospects. Rolfe went home with a 7-4-1, 5 KOs record. The referee
was Eric Dali.



BUNCH STEAMROLLS BAILEY
Promising junior welterweight prospect Shinard Bunch hammered
Marklin Bailey of Durham, NC, in a scheduled eight-rounder. The easy
win for Bunch came just 47 seconds into the first round and improved
his record to 19-1-1, 16 KOs. Bailey's record, 7-8, 4 KOs, dipped
below .500, and it was the fifth time he was stopped. Shawn Clark
was the referee.

MURPHY HELD TO DRAW
Pennsylvania-born Floridian, Jordan "Jiggy" Murphy was held to a
four-round draw by Baltimore's Antonio Dunton El Jr. The tie halted
Murphy's two-bout winning streak (2-0-1, 1 KO). Antonio remained
unbeaten (2-0-2). One judge scored the bout a shutout for Murphy.
Another had it 39-37 for El. The third judge's 38-38 tally produced
the draw. Eric Dali was the referee.

RAMOS STOPS GUZMAN
In a scheduled six-round junior lightweight fight, Carlos Ramos, of
Spain, defeated Jesus Arturo Guzman, Mexico, by TKO in round three.
It was Ramos' fourth straight win and brought his record to 15-2, 10
KOs. California-born Guzman lost his third in a row and left 8-7, 5
KOs. The referee was Shawn Clark.

CRAIN BEATS MARTINEZ
Gerardo Martinez (white trunks), Coatesville, PA, lost a four-round
decision to Delaware southpaw Michael Crain, in a junior
welterweight bout. All three official scores were 39-37 for Crain,
4-5, 1 KO. Martinez, 5-3, 1 KO, lost his second straight bout. Eric
Dali was the referee.

BURGOS AND DAVIS DRAW
Junior welterweights Christopher Burgos, Philadelphia, and Philip
Davis, Worcester, MA, fought to a four-round majority draw. The
scores 38-38 twice and 40-36 for Davis, 2-5-2. Burgos (black trunks)
left 3-5-2, 1 KO. Shawn Clark was the referee.

JENKINS TKOS HINMON
Trenton middleweight Quadeer Jenkins spoiled the pro debut of
Philly's Andre Hinmon (0-1) with a second-round TKO in their
four-rounder. Referee Eric Dali stopped the fight at 1:37 of round
two. Jenkins improved to 2-3, with 3 KOs.
