RDR Promotions staged a big, 13-bout show at The Met in North Philly on Saturday night (August 24, 2024). At the top of the card was Philly junior welterweight southpaw Isaiah Johnson in an eight-round fight against Andrew Rodgers of Elkhart, Indiana. Johnson breezed through the fight, winning every round on all three judges scorecards. Dewey LaRosa, Robert Rubnitz, and Marcel Varela all scored the fight 80-72 for Johnson, now 10-0, with 7 KOs. Rodgers' record fell to 9-13-3, 3 KOs. Shawn Clark was the referee. In the co-main event, local heavyweight contender Bryant Jennings returned to the ring after a five-year layoff and scored his own shutout eight-round decision. Jennings won every round against tough measuring stick Joel Caudle of North Carolina. Caudle came into the ring at 301 pounds, the heaviest of his nine-year career, which did not help his cause. Jennings weighed 228 and was in his usual rock-solid condition. All three judges, Dewey LaRosa, Robert Rubnitz, and Marcel Varela scored the fight 80-72 for the Philadelphian. This was Bryant's first fight with new trainer Bozy Ennis, and the win improved his record to 25-4, 14 KOs. Caudle evened out his record to 9-9-2, with 6 KOs and 1 No Contest. The referee was Eric Dali.
