The Pennsylvania Boxing Hall of Fame honored their 68th annual induction class on Sunday, October 12, 2025 at The Philadelphia Ballroom in Northeast Philly. Twenty five new members joined the longest-running boxing hall of fame in the world. These new additions increased the total number of those enshrined in the PABHOF to 480 members. The star-studded event was hosted by PA Boxing Hall of Famers Nino Del Buono and Joey Eye, and was attended by more than 300. In addition to the living inductees, a number of boxing celebrities were in attendance including Tim Witherspoon, Steve Cunningham, Jacqui Frazier-Lyde, J Russell Peltz, Joe Hand Jr., Nigel Collins, Bernard Fernandez, Marshall Kauffman, Greg Sirb, Rudy Battle, Lynne Carter, Jamil Ali, Frank Kubach, Henry Hascup, Shawn Clark, Jano Cohen, Rich Pagano, Pee Wee Dawson, Art Pellulo, Matt Ward, Frank Bartolini, Kelvin Kelly, Anthony Boyle, Willie Gibbs, Marvin Mack, Ken Hissner, Lydell Johnson, Rocky Gadson, Mike Wells, Joe Divon, Danny Davis, Shar'ron Baker, and a gate-crashing Simon "One Punch" Carr.
The evening began with the presentation of the VBA Scholarship award. This year's recipent was Josiah Brown. VBA exec Colin Brady presented Brown with a check for $1,000. Next, Joe Hand Jr. presented the inagural Marg and Joe Hand Community Impact Award to the VBA-Ring One for their continued service to the local boxing community. The VBA was established in 1935 and has been a supporter of the community for 90 years. VBA president Monty Farley accepted a beautifil plaque and a check for $2,500. PABHOF chairman John DiSanto inducted eight deceased honorees that were not represented by family. These included boxers Young Gene Buffalo and Clarence "Honeychile" Johnson, promoter Jules Aronson, writer Jack Fried (Matt Ring), manager Phil Glassman, promoter Bobby Gunnis, matchmaker Jack Puggy, and writer Bob Wright. Del Buono and Eye took turns inducting the remainder of the new members including boxers Kermit Cintron, Jason Sosa, Anthony Thompson, Mike Jones, Lajuan Simon, Frankie Mitchell, Eric Hunter, and Jimmy Clark, plus ring announcer Pete Byron, managers Frank Gelb and "KO" Becky O'Neill, trainers Willie O'Neill, Marvin "Toochice" Gordon, and Frank Taylor, referee Rick Steigerwald, writer George Hanson Jr., and commissioner George Bochetto.
