STATUE FRIDAY
UNVEILING PARTY SET FOR
VETERAN BOXERS CLUB
Artist Carl LeVotch is set to unveil his original
statue of middleweight boxing legend Joey Giardello
at a party slated for Friday evening at the Veteran
Boxers Club. LeVotch recently finished his
larger-than-life-sized clay sculpture in a makeshift
studio located in the attic of the club. Next up for
Joey G is the mold-making and the bronze casting.
But before that process begins, everyone can get the
first look, long before the dramatic work takes its
permanent home in South Philly. The free event
begins Friday, February 19th at 6PM. Refreshments
will be served and there will also be a silent
memorabilia auction and artwork for sale. The
proceeds of which will help to fund the statue
